Write for us
Coastal Home Journal welcomes thoughtful pitches about homes shaped by the sea: their rooms, materials, upkeep, seasonal rhythms and histories. We are interested in specific questions with useful answers, not another idealised picture of coastal living.
What makes a strong pitch
Tell us the central question, why a general reader might care and what the piece would help them understand or decide. A strong proposal has a clear scope, a distinct angle and a sensible account of what evidence or expertise it would need. Comparisons, explanations and carefully framed histories are welcome.
Keep it grounded
We look for original work, precise language and an honest account of limitations. Do not promise results that depend on a particular building or local conditions, or present regulated, hazardous or specialist work as a casual do-it-yourself task. Disclose relevant commercial interests and any use of generated or otherwise illustrative material.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page to send a short pitch, a brief outline and relevant writing samples if available. Please do not send a complete unsolicited article unless we have requested one. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and any commissioned work will be discussed before drafting.
